Jan and I were both about 18 when we met, I being introduced to her and her family through my engagement to her cousin Mick. I so admired her sense of fun, her happy personality and her no-nonsense approach to life in general. She was my bridesmaid and, on the eve of our wedding, she met Peter who was to be Mick's best man and it was the start of a happy 55 year relationship. It was a great privilege to know this lovely lady who always seemed to look on the bright side of life. Although we moved overseas and only communicated two or three times a year and saw each other every few years, we thought, and talked, about Jan often. Her passing leaves a big void in our lives. Our love and empathy is with Peter, Stephen, Andrew and families.
